"Young Striders" Trip
On 3rd of February boys from „Young Striders” after-school club had a trip to the Central Museum of Firefighting in Mysłowice. It is the biggest firefighting museum in Poland, and one of the biggest in Europe. Boys could see there a lot of fire trucks, for example wooden horse-drawn fire-pump truck from 1717.
Boys could see more than four hundred fire-fighting exhibits and souvenirs. There were about 40 uniforms of firemen from about 20 countries, fire engines, photos, pumps, paintings, documents and searchreflector, which could illuminate at distance of 10 km!
During the trip, boys had to talk only in English. Guide showed them how old and new fire trucks look like.
The biggest attraction was a huge truck from U.S.A., which was used on the airport in Boston, Massachusetts.
